I’ve always been drawn to creating art, whether it’s the form of painting or poetry.
But in college, my artistic path took a bit of a turn when I put down the paintbrush, and instead studied to be a 7th-12th grade math teacher. My days were spent studying calculus and embracing student teaching… yet I continued to explore my passion for photography on the side.
As different as the worlds of photography & math education may seem, I learned that these worlds complemented each other quite a bit.
Math is about rules & patterns, and in many ways, creating compelling imagery is too. Education is about problem solving & working creatively within limitations, and those skills are essential to creating art on wedding days.
When I graduated with my teaching degree, my little photography side-hustle was bursting at the seams, so I decided to jump in and embrace it full-time.
Since then I’ve had the honor of traveling to multiple states & countries, working with hundreds of couples, and witnessing so many sacred moments.
